Talking Visual Media on Nonprofit Radio with Tony Martignetti

If you listen to Tony Martignetti on Nonprofit Radio, you probably heard a familiar voice on Monday!

Tony interviewed me at NTC in March, along with my good friends and colleagues at Prichard Communications, Jenna Cerruti and Jessica Williams (Jessica has now started her own consulting firm). We had a great time talking about one of my favorite topics: visual media.

You can listen to the podcast here. We’re on for the first 30 minutes.

One thing to remember that I didn’t have time to get into with Tony: visual social media is really just the beginning. Use tools like Vine, Pinterest, Instagram, and Tumblr to start a culture of visual story telling at your organization. They’re free and easy to use, so they’re great for beginners learning about visual media. Once you have your visual media sea legs, you can start incorporating visual media and story telling into other areas of work. At PAI, we’ve started using interactive digital stories, videos, and infographics to showcase our impact. It’s much more successful than text, PDFs, and standard photos.

I hope you enjoy the show!
